2007” - the first year of full membership in the European Union and first
elections for Bulgarian representatives in the European Parliament.
The new priority of Eurointegration
Association was devoted to the first elections for Bulgarian
representatives in the European Parliament.
Starting
conference - February in Sofia for nomination of the Chairperson of the
Eurointegration Association Mrs. Maria
Serkedjieva as an independent candidate and establishment of a Committee for
Participation in the Elections;
Chairperson
of the Committee – H.E. Todor Kavaldjiev – Vice President of the Republic of
Bulgaria (1997-2002).
The independent
candidate won 0,27% from the voters in the country and 0,73% abroad.
2008:
January: The
Eurointegration Association welcomed the youngest
collective member of the association – the “Euroclub
– 33”, established from students in 33.English School “St. Sofia” in Sofia.
The
students are eager to joint the association and to be able to contribute for
the new future of Bulgaria
as a full member of the European Union.
The
ceremony was organized in the Information Centre of the European Commission in Sofia.
The
Director of the Centre - Mrs.Maria Gerganova informed the young people about the new European programmes.
